What is really scary is that people
: (strangers) are asking me if I would do them. You would laugh so
: hard if you saw what is on my skin. Great color, but REALLY bad
: design, very crude.

It's really funny... people WANT henna, they dont care what's in it,
if the design is freehand or stencil, if the artist has been doing it
for five years or five days. That's only MOST people, then there are
folks like us who know what this is all about and definitely care
what's in our henna pastes for example.

We are really in a peculiar market because most of the people we deal
with dont have a clue. That is both fortunate and unfortunate. For
example I had an experience once where two girls walked past my
table. One said, "Oh, henna, let's do that!" To which the other
replied, "No way, I can get that at home!" I think she was Indian.

Sometimes I think we are denied that immediate henna sisterhood with
our Eastern counterparts because we are still learning and in the
west. That sucks, but becoming an immediate kindred doesnt happen
overnight, sometimes it never happens.

I'm in a weird arty mood, forgive me if this doesnt make any sense.
