Hej all,

The other day I mixed up some henna with cajeput, lemon juice and a
few drops of frankincense, following the directions CCJ has on her
site. I had no trouble there, but then, last night, I tried to
strain the paste through a stocking a la Kenzi (I've been doing that
recently). Disaster! The paste did not want to come out of the
stocking that much, and the baggie broke. I ended up disecting both
baggie and stocking and using a toothpick to do a little butterfly on
my palm with what little henna I could salvage. (I now have *great*
respect for anyone who does designs with a quill, toothpick, stick
etc.) I also used a stencil on my upper arm.

I left the paste on for about an hour, then scraped it off. The
stain on my hand was a faintish orange, while the one on my upper arm
(truly goth skin) was bright orange. This morning, I have a deep
chocolate stain on my hand and a wonderful warm brown on my upper
arm!! Happy, happy! I am going to make up some more henna when my
hard to dye friend returns from holiday - perhaps it will stain even
her.

Anne, who is happy, happy! And is wondering if anyone is going to be
at the Hamburg Fair (CT) the weekend of the 17th.
