straining paste through nylon

I have tried to strain my paste through a nylon, and it never seems
to work! Even if I've strained the powder through a nylon, I just
can't get it.

All I get when I strain my paste is liquid! It seems like the henna
itself isn't going through, and all i'm getting is this dark liquid.
Any suggestions?
