I am a total fan of taking a break from an activity when it gets too
overwhelming or I'm not getting what I want out of it. I took time
off from my choir last year, and for the past few years I've been
doing *very* little henna work, and I rarely update my henna web site.

While taking a break from both activities sets me back vocally and
artistically, they have given me the time to realize how much I enjoy
them, and frankly, how much I missed them. So this fall, I'm that
much more excited about singing, and I'm that much more aware of
developing my henna skills. Taking a break is a good way to evaluate
where you are and where you want to be. And it allows you to
understand how you feel about your craft.

Plus, it's important not to burn yourself out too early. Time to
breathe is a good thing.
