When people come to me asking when their henna will darken (they turnup about 2 hours after application) I say,
"You know how an apple cut open will darken if its left exposed to the
air? That's oxidation. That's going to happen to your henna! Just
wait 48 hours and it will be oxidized completely dark brown, just
like an apple slice left out in the open!"
That makes them happy.
