Hi All,

I've been reading this group for a while and decided to introduce
myself. My name is Dee, i'm an artist (someone once asked me what I
do for a living. My answer was "It all depends on what mood I'm
in."). I paint, draw, I'm a stained glass artist, pyographer,
computer graphics artist, and web designer among other little things.
And now absolutely hooked on Henna.

I've wanted to try henna for a few years now after a friend of mine
did my hand a few years ago. Being an artist I have to try everything
I see. Finally I bought a kit (on-line) and now I can't get enough.
My husband keeps checking me for new designs every day after he gets
home *giggle*.

I do have acouple questions though. I've read everything online that
exists, I've ordered book after book but I still am not sure how long
henna paste lasts. I'm making my own and having fun experimenting. I
read somewhere that the paste only lasts for acouple days in the
fridge. Yet I had a batch in the fridge and after 6 days it was still
staining beautifully. Also how long does the pre mixed pasts last?

I know these are tough questions considering the different types of
henna powders, quality of powder, and also different types of pre mix
pastes. Any rough guess would be awesome.

Also, can anyone tell me what the differences are between brands or
powders, Moroccan, Jamilla, etc... I'm not even close to finishing
off my first batch of powder and I already want to try different
types :) I mean I know they come from different regions. I'm curious
in what they supposedly do differently, staining ability, color,
etc...

Thanks for this great board and all the great help I've recieved. I
look forward to reading more great posts. And thanks for any info you
can give me.

Dee
