Yep. I don't think there's any way around the fact that sandal straps will rub off henna... but I do what I call "sandal henna." I put on my sandals, then henna the open spots. This way I can walk around with the paste on, have pretty designs that you can see in their entirety, and not worry about weird rub/fading patterns. I'm hoping it will start a trend, so clients can get feet hennaed and still walk around comfortably! Of course, this works better with some sandals than others... with tevas I can henna my toes and the center of my foot, and with my "thong" sandals (that go between the first two toes) I have interesting open parts on the top/sides of my feet and toes.
