Hi,
There is the application of an oil free paste direct to fabric + heat
technique (Catherine and Natasha have both tried this), which will
yield the dark brown stain. There is also at least one other process
for staining/dying cloth that will give yellow/brown. I'm sure I read
somewhere of a process to get orange/red on cloth but I cannot find a
recipie, if you have time read up on natural plant dyes at your local
library I'm sure the info will be in a book somewhere.

Henna will require a mordent of some kind to fix the dye on your
fabric if you are not going to burn the paste in with an iron. Here
are a couple of sites that may help a little bit. Or try a web search
on 'natural plant dye' and see what you get. Happy hunting.

Sorry but that's all I know, Alex
