It was around 70 degrees the whole weekend, especially when : the paste was on. Would that be the difference? Only one way to find out: mix up another batch and do two designs, heat one, not the other, see how it comes out. According to www.onlineconversion.com 30 Celsius = 86 Fahrenheit and it may even have gotten hotter the day I got my best results. If that doesn't make any difference, the only other variables I can think of are 1) the lemon juice (not acid enough? too acidic?) 2) the bowl you mix it in & spoon you mix it with (funky chemical reaction? perhaps some residual dishwashing liquid that interferes with chemicals in henna/lemon juice) 3) the henna powder itself : See, the reason I keep posting is because I know I'm missing : something, and every time, I get good advice. What can I do for this : weekend when it's not likely to be very hot, either? If the heat thing works maybe you could bring a hairdryer, or if that's not possible just *tell* people: 'it will get darker if you let it dry in front of a heatsource'. If they can't find one (or can't be bothered), they'll get a lighter stain. -- Hmmm, I just pictured a full body henna, a nice comfy rug, and a wood fire, think that set up would work? Probably not very convenient for your upcoming weekend, huh?-- ;) Oh, one more thing! When I let my henna/lemon juice mixture sit, I make sure it's not exposed to too much light. I cover the plastic container I mix it in with a towel or something. As I said, I only started doing this stuff recently myself, other people on this forum probably know a lot more than I do. But this is such a fascinating mystery! :) Cheers, Sarah
