It seems to me that terped paste is just as likely to exhibit all the
variations in take that un-terped paste shows. I haven't experimented
with EOs myself, so I can't add much to the discussion, other than to
confirm that CCJ really did get the colour she describes. As for
possible explanations for her good results, I'd go with Catherine's
own suggestion of heat.
