Dear Catherine,

Thank you once again for sharing that beautiful experience. The lotus
is very pretty and calming. I felt transported to where you were,
being with other people in prayers and peaceful thoughts. I have seen
rangoli being drawn by Indian ladies here, particularly an old
neighbour of mine (the family has since moved). They used coloured
flour and sometimes flowers (or paint). I was very much intrigued
with what rangoli is (still am).

They would normally draw this on the walkway of the front door of
their homes just before Deepavali and hang mango leaves at the
doorway. When I was younger, I'd avoid stepping on the patterns,
thinking it would be a pity to get rid of all that pretty designs,
but needless to say the patterns disappeared and replaced by new ones
(to my delight).

Thank you again for the inspiration. I think each of us here has
his/her own way to deal with what has happened to the world recently.

Much love & hugs,

~Jewel~
