When I ordered my EO's the owner of the business (a Dr.) warned
severely against lemon and especially lime oils. He echoed your
thoughts exactly. However, he advised orange oils would be fine and
have a high terpene content and actually they've produced a very nice
color for me. I'm curious if you have any info. about the orange oils
opposed to lime oils??

An EO with phototoxic properties will give you a vicious little skin
: reaction in the sunshine.
:
: A phototoxin literally makes you allergic to the sunshine! I had
this
: happen with a antibiotic ... and wasn't warned. Hooooooboy! In 1/2
: hour the sunshine felt like sandpaper on my skin. In 3 hours I was
: quite ill. I was trashed for a week. Phototoxins aren't to be
: trifled with! Even if your clients aren't bothered, you, as the henna
: artist, handling much more of the citrus EO, may be!
:
: Check the link below, and do a "find in page" for "phototoxin" to see
: exactly what a citrus oil will to do skin later exposed to sun!
: Owwwwie!
