You'll need a few tries to get it right, and you'll need to correct
the color. You have to have your hand flat, but not pushed. Cool
cloth is great. If you do the bracelet thingie, you'll need a
protector or you'll scratch the glass. Take of your rings, too!

I shoot my hands with a Mavica, rather than scanning. I use 3 light
elements, and a tripod, and Alex helped me much to get decent images.
