So now thatI'm using terped henna on my skin, I'm using very old terped henna on my hair. I have noticed 2 things: 1)old henna that will not stain skin when applied with a cone stains my hands instantly when I want to put it on my hair, 2)terped henna makes the color more intense on the hair -- more red, less subtle. I was surprised when this happened, but got used to and now love the color. Since I'm so fair and have freckles, people still assume it;s natural...and it IS (just not naturally occuring from my head...) I mix a little olive oil in my hair mix, glop it on, cover it with a plastic grocery bag (tying the looped ends so that the bag is tight over my head), and then I cover that with an old dark-colored towel. The plastic keeps the heat in and the towel catches the dribbles that always leak out. I only leave it on for an hour, or less if i'm feeling rushed. Oh yes, and use an old toothbrush to get the henna in really close to the roots but avoiding the scalp -- although henna doesn't really take well on scalps. Good luck!
