If it weren't for the fact that you tried the henna on your hand, I
might have suggested that it was that part of your body, the inside
of your arm which was the cause of the sensitivity... I could never
henna my boyfriend's arm because it always made him itch... he's got
really sensitive skin and I think it was the lemon that bothered him.

As with any allergy, you've kind of got to test yourself to see where
it's coming from.
