I have a little different sifting method than Maureen's. I use a 24oz cottage cheese or yougurt container, some marbles, rubber band and some gauze fabric-this weave is close enough to wear as cloths-not the looser weaves. I put the fabric over the top of the container and make a bit of a depression. Then I secure this with the rubberband. Next I put the powder and marbles(or stones, dice, coins, knuckle bones...)in and put the cover on. This can be a little tricky as it doesn't always want to go over the fabric. Just show it who's boss. Then I hold it with my thumbs on top and fingers on the bottom and shake-not too hard!-and shake-not too soft!- and shake-just right. the more powder, the longer it takes. 60 grams of hair henna-lots of twigs!-takes about 5 minutes. For good measure I still strain it through a nylon-using Kenzi and Maureen's method. Good luck! jolynn : 1. I thought CCJ might be interested first. My site has a link to : your blackstuff page, and I monitor my links using "linkcounter" and : most days there is a clickthru to your page, on one day 10 clicks : were processed. (I know it's not mega but my site is not viewed by : thousands of people!) : Also Mark at henna-boy and Baron (Pirates-hoard) has had a few clicks. : I don't report this for anything other than to let you know that : there is ( albeit small) some exposure being gained from links on : other peoples sites. : 2. The sifting thing. I have some powder that I bought dirt cheap it : gives a good stain but... it is very coarse. I have tried sifting it : through a nylon stocking ( my best pair ruined ...lol) several times : but it takes forever to get a small amount od powder out. Is there a : quick and easy way to get it sifted. ( I am aware of the Fredomatic, : but live in UK and believe it is only available in US) Incidentally : the powder is ok in carrot bags. I even got a good stain using warm : water only. If any one wants a box (£1 per 100g + postage) then let : me know. I picked up 12 boxes of the stuff. : 3. Mentioning water. I note the Halawa products contain water in the : catalyst, does the hardness/softness of the water affect the stain, : would adding a surfactant to the water affect the staining? : I have added a few new photos to my site, txilar, the DK piccie is : there albeit not very clever, the customer (non -paying, yet) was a : bit wobbly! Also some poor photos of the applied brace. : 4. Samantha, could you give me a total price to send me 10 of the : 10ml brown oil bottles please, and I'll get a check in the post to : you.
