its happened again

I made up some henna yesterday morning - mixed it with oldish lemons
i had stashed in the bottom if the fruit bowl and let it sit in a
warm room until the evening. I applied a real nice yet simple finger
to wrist design. Sealed it with NS, wrapped it and left it overnight.
Picked it of this morning and had the most pathetic stain. You can
hardly see it. It is what i would expect to see in a 2 week old stain.
Why the hell is this happening. This is not the first time either...
Imagine if it was a client.Goodbye reputation.
The henna was a reputable brand BTW
