best wristPosted by M on November 12, 2001 at 06:07:52: Hi allI made and froze a paste (100grams worth of henna powder "shelly" brand) with tea tree and lavender added about 2 months ago. The first time i used it it came a dark cherry burgendy on the palm and finger tips after only about an hour and a 1/4, since then whenver i have gotten bored i try out the paste and see the differances it makes by putting on the paste in differant spots for differant times and heats and basically using all the tips on this forum. The top of the foot has stain a rich dark red/marone when applyed thickly and when i added more tea tree oil. Most other areas have come out a range of light brown to cherry burgendy. I most recently did the "2 snakes intertwined celtic knot" type pattern in CCJs site, i dont remember which but it is under the pattern page titled "year of the snake". After drawing out the design in a connecter pen texta on where i wanted it to go and adding a little more tea tree oil, i applyed REALLY thickly the design to the inside of my wrist and after i kept it wrapped (and sat on the heater vent for a couple of hours)i took it off and the colour was fairly dark and i did my foot with left over paste in a thin leafy type of design. The foot is now a browny red "bolognese sauce" type colour and the wrist goes from dark brown to brown (with no red tinge at all) at the end of the thin tails, the darkest wrist stain i have done and near the darkest wrist stain i have seen. i have two questions, 1. Why does it not only change darkness but also colours on differant areas, the redness especially? 2. How much terp-oil to henna paste should there be? (i dont think i put enough in the first mix)
