Help! My Henna is weak and it won't get dark!

Hi Guys!I'm having a bit of a problem. I've always used the same vendor of
henna with beautifully dark reasults. I keep what I don't use in a
light proof container in my freezer. I haven't really altered the way
I make my tea to mix with or anything, but these last two batches my
henna never gets dark enough to stain! Any ideas on how to correct?
P.S. The powder is less than six months old and this bag has only
been open three weeks, closed up and in the freezer. And I;m using
cloves, and lime juice!
