henna tattoo?

This is my first time to visit this web site, and I am surprised by
the number of people on it! I have been "practicing mehndi" for about
a year now, I really enjoy it. My question is... what is the proper
term for describing the art of the application of henna. Henna
painting? And more, what should the end design be refered to as, I
never feel like calling it a "henna tattoo" is correct. It is not a
tattoo, that has a whole different history (and is more oriented with
males then females) then Mehndi. Not a big deal, but what should I
call the lovely designs that I put on my hands,feet,legs,arm
