It was my partners sisters nephews 14th dirthday party last night and
he had a disco for his freinds ( a large amount of girls there, wish
I had had that amount of pull at his age!) I took along some paste
and a book of tribval stencils as one of my partners freinds wanted
an armband...well that started the ball rolling (like someone on the
forum said "do some for free until they start to offer money") she
was pleased with the tattoo and offered to pay, I refused to accept
for the reason that I was still practising but thanks anyway etc. Her
daughter who was a guest at the party also wanted one done...and so a
queue of girls started to form behind her. 4 hours later the disco
finished and I ran out of paste, one small j bottle had done 30 nice
tattoo's and everyone was happy. The DJ's 9 yr old daughter had one
(after checking with her father who also turned out to be a doctor
and was alittle surprised to find someone warning him about PPD, as
he was well aware of it but had not as yet had a Henna tattoist ( I
apply the term loosely to myself) mention it to him. Although he
didn't say wheter or not he actually came into contact with mant
people who use henna. Any way the upshot was I now have quite a few
dates being arranged to go to peoples house and get paid for having a
great time putting paste onto people. All seem more than happy to pay
a minimum of £3 GBP upwards for a tattoo, and I worked out that for
the tattoo I did last night my materials cost me around a £1!
I can't believe people are so willing to pay me to enjoy myself, the
only thing is I see what everyone means about aching hands from j
bottles, and unblocking them is a pain, I've just carrot bags all day
today and no problems and if it blocks I find a quick pinch on the
end sorts it every time.

Now the question.
I saw a tip the other day which said for rough skin on elbows rub a
lemon ( the inside of the lemon of course) on the area and it will
soften it. Now if lemon juice soaks into the skin does it make the
skin acidic for a time and if so what happens if you apply the henna
paste onto skin that has just been rubbed with lemon, does it bring
the dye out more?
