One of the maid ladies who worked at the all girls hostel/dormitory
in Paris where I stayed this past summer had her bottom lip and chin
hennaed. It was a weird color, tho, and probably unnoticable to
someone who hadn't seen it before and didn't know what it was. The
lady was "black" but not in the same way people are in America; she
was definitely African, and the henna stain appeared to offset her
natural skin tone by giving it a greenish hue.

It was really cool seeing someone right away with henna on them.
Made me feel at home. She helped me hook up my mini fridge.
