If you take off the "mud" without washing the area thoroughly,
naturally there will be some residual tannins left over, still
reacting.

The darkening is also due to exposing the reacted skin cells to air,
it's a similar reaction to the rusting of a car.

Rubbing clove oil over the residual henna probably hepled but I
wouldn't suggest doing that again, at least not with pure clove oil.
Pure essential oils can be damaging to the skin and may even enter
your circulation. Try adding a few drops of clove oil to a spoonful
of olive or veg. oil for your protection.

Will your boss be really mad even if you have a small tasteful wrist
design? What heathens!
