I got ahold of some pine EO and have been using it extremely
succesfully to stain thinner areas... so 2 nights ago i mixed up a
batch and did a large unoriginal (guess i wasn't feeling creative...)
swirly design on the outside of my calf. It was LS'd and wrapped as
usual, and the usual heating pad was taped to my leg and set on
medium for most of the night.
The design extends up to about 4.5 inches from the knee, and the
instant i unwrapped it and scraped some paste off i noticed that the
stain was wonderfully dark, a nice deep bittersweet, in comparison
with the barely visable wimpy orange that i usually get in that area.
It hasn't darkened too much since then, but it is definately a little
deeper and more mahogany colored now. The color is very uniform,
maybe a tad bit darker on the calloused bit of my ankle bone.

Another side note, i was hennaing my feet last night, and after the
paste had been on for about 45 minutes i had a rather nasty incident
involving metal pyramid studs and my bare foot while trying to plug
in the hair dryer. I had to wash all the henna off, and i noticed
that the stain was fairly even in all areas and quite dark for the
ammount of time it was in place. By now it has darkened to a deeper
and more light mahogany color, which is really not bad looking for
having to wash it off so soon!

: My foot, done with home-made paste with a blast of cajeput EO is on
: its 3rd day, and the stains on the top and sole are still precisely
: equal, and nearly as dark up to mid-calf. The color is all
: expresso-bean to chestnut no matter thin or thick the skin is. It
was
: sealed with NS but never wrapped. I'm very curious to see how long
it
: will last and what the demise characteristics will be. The one
: (frankincense EO) I had on my hand in the UK actually had a rather
: attractive demise ..... sort of like a sepia-tint photograph
fading.
: That's a FIRST!
