Hi Sophie,

My personal choice is the darker stain/shorter life span. Like you,
after I have enjoyed a design for awhile, I want to be about the
process of creating another design, putting it on and wearing it for
awhile. However, if I were paying for the designs I might be more
inclined to choose something longer lasting though not as deeply
stained. Of course, two weeks is not bad if the stain remains deep
until then. But if it has disappeared by then then we are really
talking about a design that lasts about one week aren't we?

My questions related to the shorter life-span is can you charge the
same for a design that lasts one to two weeks compared to a design
that lasts 4 to 6 weeks? Also, the henna paste that I designed my
hand with had cajeput added in and that stain is still going strong
after doing everything I can to get rid of it. So I would like to
know if the two weeks represents the average and what the outside
limit for stain duration is?

So to answer your question: As an artist I like darker stain/shorter
life-span. I strongly believe that as a paying customer having henna
applied, I would choose longer life-span/less deep but decent stain.
That 'how long does it last' question is one I am always asked and
folks have been satisfied with my 3 to 4 weeks answer. It will be
interesting to see reactions to "approximately two weeks".
Maureen
