Re: Darker stain = shorter life-spanPosted by Kenzi on July 24, 2001 at 02:40:50: In reply to: Darker stain = shorter life-span posted by BarefootSophie on July 23, 2001 at 22:16:37: Since I started using cajeput in my paste I have had to rethink myconversations with clients. I usually tell them that the stain lasts 2-3 weeks and tell them that they can make it last longer if they want, or scrub it if they need it to disappear quicker. My feeling is that many clients at street fairs are unlikely to do everything you ask them to do in order to get a good stain, so I feel that a shorter lasting but dark staining paste is best. I find that most clients are more concerned with the color than with the longevity, and those that are concerned with longevity want to time their appointment so that their henna stain is at its most beautiful for their event. As for me, i like the dark-and-quick-stain because I am always so busy that I can't keep my hand tied up for hours to get a good stain sometimes. I am thinking especially of those times I want to have henna for a street fair to show people what it looks like but in the days leading up to it I usually have a lot of other things to do and can't really spare the time to have my hands out of commission. I also like when it fades quickly so that I can try a new design sooner. That's my vote.
