Skin allergic reactionsPosted by Wolf on July 25, 2001 at 10:15:54: Hello, everyone! I'm new here. Had the pleasure of meeting CCJ lastyear in a workshop. I've got a question for y'all: I'm stumped. I've been doing henna for about 3 years, and I've only found one person who's allergic: me. And the tricky part? Only on certain parts of the body. At first, only a quarter-sized patch of the back of my left hand would get irritated from henna paste, and look rather like poison ivy. Then is was spots on the left forearm. Then the whole back of the left hand. Now occasionally the back of my right hand. If this keeps spreading, I won't be able to paint myself at all! Has anyone experienced anything like this? Know why it keeps getting worse? Any way to stop it? I love to henna myself as demonstration for festivals and such, but this is getting ridiculous. I've tried using nothing but henna and lemon juice - it still gets rashy and itches, usually swells up along every line of henna, making the design become 3-D! Wolf
