Does anyone know of a way for people farther than 600 miles away to
get them goods? The commercial carriers are not carrying US mail
right away. The USPS is truck delivering mail within 600 mile radius
from what I have heard on the news. The rest just sits. I would
love to contribute but it doesn't seem like there is a way to get
things there in any kind of timely fashion.

: I work for a College and the list they provided also included:
:
: opticare eydrops for the search dogs (you can get them easily in a
pet
: store)
: rubber soled dog boots (their paws are getting cut on the glass and
: metal)
: anything with caffiene (aka coffee, soda, tea etc.)
: non-perishable sandwiches (PB and J etc, no mayonnaise)
: medical supplies (bandages, eye drops for people, alcohol, peroxide
: etc)
: "C" batteries
: flashlights
:
: I don't know where everyone lives however: Iona College which is in
New
: Rochelle in Westchester has been allowed to send trucks down to WTC
to
: deliver goods. If you want to drop off a donation they will take
it.
: Drop it off before noon Saturday or before noon Sunday (they're
making
: two deliveries). They are also taking volunteers to help pack
trucks at
: the college, and to help unpack trucks downtown. If you go to
volunteer
: just mention that Linda Robertello who works in the College
Assistance
: Program (my office there) sent you and it should be okay. They'll
take
: donations from anyone.
