Fast, fastfast! Dark, dark, dark! And .. the stain on keratinized skin (palms and soles) no longer has such an advantage over non-keratinized skin! The stains on forarms, navels .... amazing colors! Shallow takes, but intense. For some reason that I haven't yet sussed, the dye molecules are descending only half as deep as they usually do, but are strongly oxidized as far down as they go. I have some hunches about why ..... but need to ask someone questions first. Look for constituents of essential oils that have molecular structures similar to terpineol ... especiall the terpinene4-ol that is in Tea Tree oil up to 40%. That does EXACTLY what you describe! Once you have that sort of highly oxidizing solvent in your paste ... the henna molecules just plain go ballistic! I'm with you ... I love the idea that we all now have absolute control over what's going into the paste!
