If you want to help NY rescue workersPosted by Kenzi on September 14, 2001 at 00:39:58: I just got back from one of the major areas where they are acceptingdonations to help the rescue workers. I was told that they need dry and clean clothes, specifically underwear, socks, t-shirts and sweatpants (in order of importance). While there I read signs saying other things that they need and they are as follows: dust masks work gloves flashlights batteries toothbrushes and toothpaste I don't know the exact places to send these things but I amsure that if you send them to the following address they will get to the people who need them: Chelsea Piers Rescue Worker Donations New York, NY 10011 Rescue workers are working hard, sleeping in the streets for a few hours and going back to work. They are often working knee deep in water and muck and need fresh clothes to change into between shifts. The use of the other items is self-explanatory. For more information about donations, try the link below. Also visit www.redcross.org to see what you can do to help them. Thank you everyone for your support. I know that everyone is going through this with us; it may have happened in NYC but it happened to the whole country and beyond. If anyone wants to make a henna prayer flag and send it to me, just email me at the address above and I will tell you where to send it. I will string them up and hang them fro
