SeeSee, I hade the same experience. I thought C.A. was supposed to be
pre-sifted, but mine needed a lot of sifting. I was assured over the
phone when I placed my order, though, that I would be getting the same
batch that Catherine was praising. Amy (of C.A. - we are not the same
) also said that they were going through this batch pretty fast (I
hope they give Catherine a commission), so it may be that we are
actually getting the last of the new stuff.

I think you will find it worth sifting, though. I have yet to try it
on myself, but my mother's experience was similar to the one above.
Orange at first, just like normal, but when she got home... dark
brown-red in the harder to stain areas of the feet ("more red than
brown") and black at the edges near the sole (these areas of the
design were also more solid, rather than fine lines). Not dark brown.
Not espresso. Not chocolate. Black. No special recipe or
technique. Same as always. And she does not usually get very dark
color.

I have GOT to get some of this stuff on my own skin. I too have some
leftover from a client in my fridge (the leftover, not the client).
Maybe I have go go now! ...
