After a two great summers on the road we returned to Brighton realising that we needed a studio. As luck would have it there was a unit available at one of the best tourist attractions - Brighton Pier.

We took it immediately and that's how the henna boy has grown into what it is now -what I think is its adult life (gone are its teenage years!)

How The Henna Boy Works!

Henna Boy strives to beat the rest - having found a supplier in India we obtain our henna in December/January direct from the source (They will not send - you have to go and get it!)

Its fine and very well sifted and produces a nice deep rich colour, which has resulted in the Henna Boy studio obtaining a great reputation by word of mouth.

The recipe we use to mix the henna has come from a base recipe that I had already and from discussions with the great enthusiasts at the hennapage.com forum.

Our Recipe

2 Pints Boiled Water
6 Tea Bags
2 Teaspoons Coffee
3cm Block Tamarind
2 Handful's Whole Cloves
2 Teaspoons Powdered Cloves
2 Handful's Whole Black Peppercorns
2 Teaspoons Sugar (unrefined)

Bring back to the boil and then simmer for ¾ hour. Leave to cool and then strain into an airtight container.

We will then reheat the solution we require each day and add to the henna. We find this enables us to use the henna immediately as it produces a quick dye release. We also mix fresh every day and do not use any surplus that is left over - this can be wasteful but it's how we guarantee customer satisfaction.
