I can only speak for myself and what I have seen on my clents (if I see them after the application).

On myself they turn out a variety of Orange colors. From light orange to a deep bright orange after the paste is removed. After a few hours they turn into hues of brown. Some end up light brown and some turn dark brown. This batch was THE darkest I have ever seen it on myself. From Coffee brown to expresso black/brown and some choclate brown. I, myself have never encountered a mehndi design showing up brown as I removed my mehndi. Maybe others that have could add a posting to this?
